The first festival was held in 1975; since then, every third weekend of June, Krämerbrücke bridge and the square located next to the cathedral become the most busy and noisy areas of Erfurt. During the festival, there is a fair right on the bridge, where you can buy amazing souvenirs and holiday treats. Various recreational activities take place next to the bridge and the Cathedral square from early morning until late at night.
The main feature of the festival is its unique medieval style. Artisans take an active part in the event; besides interesting crafts, guests of the festival have an opportunity to buy traditional clothing, as well as to learn how to make traditional souvenirs.
