Family trip to Tallinn with children. Ideas on where to go with your child
Tallinn is an excellent destination for tourists with children as they will be able to enjoy interesting entertainment, from traditional museum excursions to observation of unique historical places and amazing amusement complexes. The historic part of the city is a gathering place for all sweet tooths as it’s the location of the Marzipan Gallery. The venue is a fabulous combination of a classical confectionery café and a wonderful museum. As it’s not hard to guess, skillfully made marzipan figurines are the main exhibits of the “museum”. Visitors of the gallery will have an opportunity to see how masters work and create truly unbelievable items from marzipan, including interesting pictures and even photographs. It’s possible not only to look at marzipan masterpieces but also buy the ones you like. Children will be super excited to participate in master classes that often take place in the gallery.

Simply no vacation in Tallinn is possible without visiting the local zoo. It’s an incredibly attractive and comfortable place. Large open air cages have become home for many rare animals, including snow leopards, polar bears, tigers, and even camels brought from distant hot countries. There are also an interesting tropical pavilion, elephant enclosure, and even an insectary in Tallinn Zoo. Small travelers will be surely fond of a mini zoo with domestic animals being its main inhabitants. Bunnies, sheep, and cute guinea pigs – kids are allowed to touch, pet, and even feed these animals. Travelers, who visit Tallinn Zoo in summer, are welcome to sign up for an exciting nighttime excursion or make a picnic not far from the cages.

Things to visit with your kids in Estonia
The fabulous Canterville Castle is widely known in the village of Pikajarve, around which there is a themed entertainment park where you can get acquainted with the clothes, means of transportation and cuisines of past centuries. In the gaming area, there is a wardrobe room in which young dandies can try on old clothes. Near Võrumaa is the Pokuland, an entertainment center created on the basis of the works of the Estonian writer Edgar Valter. Here children will get acquainted with the “pokus” – grass mounds that grow in bogs which will help them learn more about nature. In the town of Uue-Antsla there is the Traffic City, a unique center designed to teach children the rules of the road. It has real streets, intersections and pedestrian crossings, traffic signs and traffic lights. Children can ride on the roads of Traffic City on small accumulator cars and even fill them up at a gas station.
