This is one of most romantic cities in Croatia, which is often called "the pearl of the north". The central part of the city is the location of one of its oldest buildings - Church of St Eufemia. It was founded in the early 18th century and this is a wonderful example of the Venetian style. The height of one of its towers estimates 57 meters and the tower is decorated with a beautiful statue of the saint Eufemia, which has always been considered the patroness of the city.

The main square of Rovinj was named in honor of Marshal Tito. You will find this square near the port area. Several notable buildings are located around the square. Town Hall and Palace Kaliffi are among them. Art-lovers simply have to make a walk down the Gerizim Street, in which modern artists display their works. Active rest fans as well as travelers with children should visit a new entertainment complex called "Monvie”. Here they will find numerous amusements, rides, a cinema and a large aquarium. Your visit to Punta Corrente Park will complete the entertainment program. This is a true unspoiled corner of nature, where visitors will find peace and quiet. Finally, we simply cannot fail to mention beach rest. All local beaches are a real treasure for divers, because sea here is always calm, water is clear and, underwater world is spectacular and unique.

Tours to the island of St. Catherine are extremely popular with guests of Rovinj. Its area is quite small and is about 0.12 sq. km. In the 19th century, noble dukes owned this miniature islet. They built luxurious mansions and created lush gardens all over it. Now, one of the mansions houses a prestigious hotel. A park covers nearly the entire territory. During the warm season, its visitors have access to beaches with crystal clear water.

An interesting cultural institution is the Batana House Museum. It is a small establishment on the water dedicated to an ancient fishing boat - the battalion. For several hundred years, it has remained an indispensable fishing tool for local fishermen. Museum visitors will have an opportunity to learn numerous facts about these boats that haven't changed externally over the past centuries. Fishermen continue to use small wooden boats to this day. They have a gift shop, where you can buy miniature boat figurines, as well as other related crafts.

An important religious monument for Rovinj is the Church of the Holy Trinity with a unique heptagonal chapel. This church is considered one of the best preserved historic buildings in the city. It has not changed much since the construction. The building harmoniously combines elements of romanticism and Gothic. Internal decoration impresses with the variety of ancient elements and artifacts.

The Church of the Virgin Mary of Mercy built in the second half of the 15th century is a striking Baroque monument. The Virgin Mary is the patroness of local fishermen. Beautiful holidays in her honor are held annually in the old church. There exist many important historical artifacts there, as well.

The most beautiful pedestrian street of Rovinj is Karera. It is located on the territory of the Old Town. This little picturesque street paved with cobblestones, is framed by beautiful historical buildings on both sides. Many buildings house restaurants of national cuisine, art and craft workshops, and souvenir shops nowadays. In summer, all local institutions work until late at night.
