ON Residence to Open a Hotel in Thessaloniki in 2022

News Next year, one of the most anticipated hotels in Thessaloniki will welcome its first guests. TOR Hotel Group and Grivalia Hospitality partnered together to open ON Residence in the beautiful Greek city. Expected to start operating in the first quarter of 2022, ON Residence will not only bring a legendary restaurant to the co-capital of Greece but also a hotel with its exclusive style and atmosphere. The project has an ambitious aim to redefine the luxury hotel market of Thessaloniki.

The hotel will be home to the renewed Olympos Naoussa restaurant. In the past, this restaurant was a popular meeting place that attracted many politicians, celebrities, and people of art. Unfortunately, the restaurant closed in the mid-90s. ON Residence decided to revive the iconic restaurant and turn it into a new luxurious destination for fans of fine cuisine and exceptional service. The restaurant will be located on the ground floor of the hotel, near a charming inner yard. The new Thessaloniki hotel will have 60 rooms and suites, a cocktail bar, a modern gym, and a meeting and event space in the beautifully decorated mezzanine.

The building of ON Residence dates back to 1926. It was designed by renowned architect Jacques Mosse and features elements of eclecticism and neoclassicism with a slight Belle Epoque vibe. For architect teams who worked with this project, it was extremely important to save the historic look of the building and make the restoration as delicate as possible. Moreover, the Ministry of Culture’s instructions stated that it was necessary to preserve the original façade and decorative elements of the building. Nikiforidis and Cuomo, the award-winning architect company, was responsible for the design of communal areas, and French decorator Fabienne Spahn developed the interior design.

Rooms at this hotel will be divided into several categories. Standard rooms will provide the courtyard view, and deluxe rooms will have the seafront view. There will also be ON Suites and ON Residences (Junior Suites and Suites respectively). All rooms will have calm and natural color schemes with touches of green and pink and mostly natural materials. Rooms come with 55-inch televisions, Marshall speakers, and Nespresso coffee machines.

As it was mentioned above, Olympos Naoussa will be the main restaurant of the luxury hotel. It will be led by chef Dimitris Tassioulas who will offer a modern take on traditional Northern Greece cuisine.
