The story of the beach is very interesting. It owes its uniqueness to human negligence and carelessness. Back in the mid-20th century, locals arranged a landfill at the coast. Various waste, including bottles and other glass objects was taken there. Over the years, the sea water grinded the glass shards and turned them into incredibly beautiful stones that cover the coast today. In 1967, the local authorities decided to get the waste out. The coast has been carefully cleaned, but shattered glass pieces were left.
This unique beach began to attract tourists in the 80s of the last century. In 2002, it was decided to designate it to the MacKerricher State Park territory. You can relax, take interesting pictures, and buy a souvenir at this unusual beach. The locals make trinkets and other nice souvenirs of the most attractive colored stones, which they are able to find on the coast. This handmade stuff is then sold to tourists.
