Airport location, terminals and transportation

Augusta Regional Airport (Bush Field) is located in the territory of the North American state of Georgia, 11 km from Augusta. The airport was built and opened in the first half of 1941. Initially, it was designed as a flight school for basic pilot training. The airport was named “Bush Field” after the deceased pilot who was at the origin of the flight training at the base. In 1944, the pilot training at the base was ceased. In 1950, the airport started working for commercial airlines.

In 2000, the airport changed its original name “Bush Field” to “Augusta Regional Airport”. At Augusta Airport, there are two air-strips and one passenger terminal. Besides commercial scheduled flights, the airport serves the general aviation, private and military flights, offers aircraft maintenance services, and sells fuel. All flights are domestic. Augusta Regional Airport does not perform international flights. From the airport, you can travel to the city by taxi, transfer or limo.
