Elegant stained-glass windows are the main decorative feature of the cathedral, a part of them was created following a project by Mark Chagall. An interesting fact is that nobody has ever washed these windows during the cathedral existence. The fact they are still clean is one of the cathedral secrets.
Palais du Tau is another important architectural building. It is a former palace of archbishops. The construction of the palace was finished in 1690. The palace is located near the cathedral, at present time it hosts a museum, which keeps the most interesting collection of religious artifacts. The museum collection includes age-old tapestries, sculptures and other priceless items which were used in the crowning ceremony. The Saint-Remi basilica is a significant religious sight, as it keeps the Saint Remi’s tomb. The basilica is executed in the Romanic style. Today it is the biggest pilgrim church in the north region of the country. The name of this patron saint of the city stands for name of one of the museums in Reims. The main artifact of Saint Remi’s museum is Saint Icon-Lamp being an important crowning attribute. Also the museum keeps a perfect collection of historical and archeological artifacts.
