W Hotels Adds One More Hotel in China

W Hotels International, Marriott Group, continues its strategic expansion in China and opens a hotel in Changsha, the biggest city in Hunan province and its capital. With this opening, W Hotels marks its presence in Central China. The Hunan Yunda Industry Group is the owner of the building.

W Hotel in Changsha is conveniently located in the heart of the city, close to its business and shopping districts. It is also easy to reach the hotel from Changsha Huanghua International Airport – it takes only 30 minutes by car to get to it. The Changsha South Railway Station is even closer – within a 15-minute drive. The railway offers a simple connection to large cities like Beijing, Hong Kong, and Macau via a high-speed express. Changsha is a modern and futuristic city, and the hotel reflects this in its playful and even somewhat provocative design inspired by outer space.

In China, Changsha is widely recognized as a “Star City”, and the hotel’s design takes its inspiration from this. Geometric patterns and avant-garde artworks help to create the right mood. Some of the artworks were commissioned for the hotel, including the Zeta art and Schrodinger’s Cat series. Guests see the unusual design of this hotel right from the moment they step inside as a large W logo with a moon-type pattern welcomes them. Places like the “Avenue of the Stars” combine sound, digital, and interactive elements to create interesting effects.

The W hotel in Changsha has 345 guest rooms and suites that are the epitome of modern luxury. Some exclusive rooms deserve a separate mention. For example, the Extreme – WOW Suite is scattered across three floors (floor 26 to 28) and offers more than 1,000 meters of living space. It comes with a private garden and a swimming pool. The suite is perfect for private events. Foodies will find it very appealing to visit TROPICS, an all-day dining restaurant with an open kitchen and many choices from local and international cuisines. Shinn Yen restaurant specializes in local Hunanese cuisine.

After a long day of work, guests can relax at the hotel’s reflection pool or the signature WET pool decorated with a three-meter sculpture of a “Space Cat”.
