Hard Rock Will Open a Casino in London

Hard Rock International already has a hotel in London but the internationally renowned chain of music-inspired hotels decided to go one step further and open a casino in the UK’s capital. For this purpose, Hard Rock purchased the casino premise license that previously belonged to the Ritz Club in London. This decision is a part of the global strategy of the hotel chain to expand in the most famous gateway cities around the world.

London has a special meaning for the Hard Rock brand as this is its birthplace. That is why it was particularly important to bring not only signature hospitality but also entertainment and gaming to the capital of the UK. One of the most recognized hotel brands in the world, Hard Rock tries to utilize this popularity and offer a full specter of services to its guests. When open, the London casino will join Hard Rock casinos in Hollywood, Madrid, Amsterdam, New York, and many other gateway cities around the world.

Today, Hard Rock hotels work in 69 countries. There are more than 240 locations with branded Hard Rock hotels, Cafes, Casinos, or Rock Shops. The company is increasingly interested in diversifying its business and so it decided to launch the Hard Rock Digital platform last year. This is a joint venture that specializes in both retail and online sports betting and interactive gaming.

Hard Rock cafes and hotels in Amsterdam, London, Berlin, and other cities always have one thing in common – they exhibit authentic music memorabilia. This collection started with an Eric Clapton guitar and kept growing over the years. Today, Hard Rock owns the most expensive collection of music memorabilia in the world with more than 86,000 items. Visitors of Hard Rock facilities around the world can see this collection.

The company was honored with several important awards. For example, Forbes Magazine named Hard Rock a Top Employer for Women in 2019 and 2020. Last year, Forbes additionally called the company one of the Best Employers for Diversity. Some hotels in the portfolio are truly unique – the first Guitar Hotel in the world, which is open in South Florida, the US, was selected as the 2020 Property of the Year by Global Gaming. In addition to the operating hotel in London, Hard Rock plans to open one more hotel that will be located in the former Kellogg’s factory. The abandoned factory will be transformed into a 353-room hotel. The first phase is set to open in late 2022.
