Shoppers should take into account that almost all local stores accept credit cards. It’s worth to carry a sufficient amount of cash, if you are going to visit street markets and small restaurants in remote towns of the province.
You can pay for purchases and services in euros only; any other currency won’t be accepted here. Money can be exchanged at any of the local bank; they usually serve clients from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm.
Mains voltage is 220 V; all hotels have European-style sockets. Adapters for electrical devices are available upon request in large hotels.
Those who don’t speak French perfectly should definitely take a phrasebook with them, otherwise it won’t be easy to find a common language with natives. Locals learn foreign languages, but it is simply not accepted to communicate in other languages.
